”Mota Shang” wallpaper was created in collaboration between wallpaper editor, Studio Printworks, and contemporary artist and designer, John Mahoney. Mahoney's keen interest in Japanese culture and mechanical imagery is evident in this trellis pattern which is inspired by flywheels and silk shangtung. The paper is designed to be hung in randomly alternating strips, creating unique intersections at every seam, and ensuring that every installation is unique.
